The American Magical Agency studied the practice of wandless magic for years. Ten, fifteen, maybe twenty long, hard-working years. The entire idea of wandless magic was originally found in folklore as a type of magic thought to be used by magical tribes in Africa. Society frowned upon it as a form of dark magic, thought to be unacceptable. The AMA, however, discovered something highly useful. Wandless magic was not a myth at all.
Evan Kameon was one of the few who found the idea invigorating. The Kameon family donated a large sum of money to the research of wandless magic in order to promote the idea. Born to a family of muggles, Mr. Kameon thoroughly understood the shock of such an amazing discovery. It was discovering that he was a wizard, after all, that had raised his confidence and pushed him towards the gold rush— the rush that had promoted him into a very wealthy, successful man indeed. Kameon had taken from that experience that new opportunities were meant to be sought after, seized and taken. All one had to do was simply disable their boundaries, their fears and worries, and step forward.
Kameon's approval of wandless magic greatly promoted the idea, as planned. If an entrepreneur as successful as Evan Kameon found it worthy of attention, surely others should agree with him. There were seminars and learning sessions held around the country. The government encouraged each attending audience to invest in books and guides about the newly recognized form of magic.
Though the press had begun to cover it as "safe and useful," magical America at large was still highly skeptical. They could not begin to comprehend, after centuries of performing magic with wands, that the wand was simply no longer necessary. If wandless magic was so easy to master, so "safe and useful," why had it never been promoted before? Everyone had questions upon questions, some of which the government merely did not know the answer to as of yet.
Kameon himself had no patience to wait for the government to finalize their facts. Kameons Academy was already well into it's starting prime, under the watchful eye of Kate Kameon, and it was this success of Kameons that led Evan to hire a tutor for wandless magic. The man he hired, who had actually been on the AMA's team of researchers two years before, taught Mr. Kameon himself the lessons before he was allowed to approach the children on teaching terms. Teaching wandless magic at Kameons was a huge step forward. The public responded with applause of Kameon's educational move, supporting the idea whole-heartedly. If a school as prestigious as Kameons Academy was willing to offer courses in wandless magic, then surely it must be acceptable.
As the years passed, society began to accept wandless magic more and more. Today, wandless magic is still offered at Kameons Academy. However, students do not begin to study it until their fifth year. Kameons does this in order to give each student a strong base in general magical learning, in no way eager for the old ways to be forgotten. Wandless magic requires a strong inner strength and understanding of one's own mind. Children often have a difficult time approaching such a topic, unable to comprehend for they are still too unsure of themselves as individuals.
It has also been recently discovered that not every witch or wizard is able to perform wandless magic. The AMA is currently researching a national test required for students at the age of fifteen in order to check wandless compatibility.
