The world of Fae is going to be a place that everyone has a different opinion on. Thousands of authors and artists have created thousands of different ideas and worlds for these magical creatures. Some think they effect the life cycle of the earth, some think they're related to the angels in the heavens above. Thus, I'm taking this little paragraph out to explain that the information below is simply my interpretation of faerie existence at Kameons alone. I'm fully aware that not all may agree with the methods or history I place below and that's perfectly okay, but this is what I'm enforcing here at Kameons. If you don't like it, I suggest you don't apply for a position as a fae.
THE IDEA: I've received several PMs wondering just where this sudden influx of fae originated. It was an idea I've had for a couple months and started when I found a website with images that would support the accounts. Fast and simple.
AVAILABILITY: Unfortunately, the fae are going on a first come, first serve basis. Many of the accounts already created were sealed over AIM or a desperate PM. After all ten character slots are taken, I will not be adding in extra elements. Sadly, I'm keeping the limit at ten for organization's sake.
THE WORD FAE: Just to clarify this, fae is also a plural term. If you're speaking of more than one faerie, you can say two fae or two faeries. Of course, for confusion's sake, you can also call one fae a fae and have it grammatically correct. There is no 'faes' however.
PLACEMENT: Though it's already leaked through in a couple posts (which is fine, I think it's actually an interesting idea), Kate Kameon had nothing to do with the placement of fae on the school campus. Faeries are legend to have inhabited areas long before a human, witch, or wizard ever set foot there. The Kameons grounds was one of those places. When the school was built, the ancestors of those fae were already there. And, seeing as it's nearly impossible to remove fae from an area, there they remained.
FAERIE LIFESPAN: Being such small creatures as they are, I personally do not see a faerie living a very long life. Tiny bodies only support so many years of wear. Thus, a faerie only lives a lifespan of ten years. To many this probably sounds incredibly short but it makes perfect sense. Every one year for a faerie would be ten years for us. For instance, when a faerie is one year old they're the age of ten by our standards. At age two, they're twenty. At four, they're forty and so on and so forth. I might also include that for a fae to live a whole ten years (to one hundred) is very rare, as in our society.
THE ELEMENTS: All together, we've created ten elements to be represented with one character each. These elements are ordered through color, following the rainbow spectrum. These are: Fire (red), Love (pink), Sun (orange), Spark (yellow), Leaf (green), Water (teal), Rain (cyan), Night (violet), Death (black), and Air (white). (See the spectrum HERE) Each of these faeries have specific magical abilities that relate directly to their element. The Fire Fae can create flames, the Leaf Fae can grow and heal plants, the Air Fae can effect motion in the air, etc.
